Whitebridge team owner Sharon Murphy has entered two Aston Martin GT4’s in the 2018 Britcar Endurance Sprint Championship.

The cars will each be driven solo by owner drivers Barry McMahon and Chris Murphy who became friends after competing against each other at the increasingly popular & friendly Britcar Championship series.

45 year old McMahon comes with many years of sprint racing experience winning multiple races in Alfa Romeo and Fiat Abarth. McMahon said that after testing the Aston GT4 in Portugal last month with Murphy and Britcar regulars Adam Hatfield and Kristian Prosser I decided it was a car i just had to race, the Whitebridge team have the job sorted and I’m looking forward to working with them & competing another season of Britcar.

56 year old Murphy is very much the novice with just two seasons experience, Murphy said Britcar is a very well run championship with Claire Hedley at the helm supported by Rob Hedley & the loyal team. Britcar has been a great place to learn and meet some wonderful people, the new homologated GT4 class is a great idea and should level the playing field, I am relishing the challenge of driving solo after two seasons of sharing drives with my instructor Pro racers Matt George & Phil Glew.

Both cars are of the latest 2018 spec and have been prepared for the season by the teams chief engineer Paul Brightmore and Aston Martin Racing technical partners Prodrive.
