Without the “Orange Army” of marshals, there wouldn’t be any motorsport – it’s a well-known fact. What’s maybe not so well-known is that these hardy and enthusiastic women and men undergo judicious training to hone their skills and enhance their experience for the various trackside, pitlane and paddock tasks.

Britcar recognises the massive contribution that these volunteers make to the motorsport cause, and when it came to light that BARC were holding a marshals training day at Thruxton, Britcar co-director Rob Hedley jumped at the chance to go along lend an organisers support to the event, and to get a deeper insight into the rigorous training regime for this valued group of enthusiasts.

You can read all about Rob’s finding’s next week.
