After a hugely successful 2025, with entries averaging around 30 cars for each round, Britcar Management have looked at the class structure and the enquiries received throughout the year and have proposed a few changes to for 2026. Chief amongst those will be allowing Porsche 992 Cup, Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Ferrari 296 Challenge into Class Challenge alongside the existing Porsche 991 Cup and Ferrari 488 Challenge. Cars across this class will be balanced initially using similar mechanical balancing as found in other championships, then we will use our successful pitstop duration balancing process to give all competitors in the class an equal shot at success.
Across the grid there will be a consolidation of the classes to merge the more lightly supported classes with the stronger ones. This will reduce the overall number of classes but will give everyone a bigger pool of competition to battle. Again, cars will initially have a mechanical balance to bring them into the window of the other cars in their class and performance fine tuning via the mandatory pitstop lengths.
For 2026, all cars will be running on the Goodyear Slick and Wet Racing tyres.
Visit the final round at Brands Hatch for the Night Race on 8th November.
