In a rare reporting error, the race report for the Silverstone GP round failed to even mention Nick Casey and Adriano Medeiros, totally missing their outstanding performance in the Datum Motorsport Ginetta G55 Supercup, which in fact finished second in the Ginetta class. Casey moved up the order in his opening stint, despite some technical issues, leaving the car well-placed for pro-driver Medeiros, who began to chase the class leading Ginetta, taking five-seconds a lap out of the gap and, on tyres that had seen their best, setting the fastest lap of the class, and in fact, any Ginetta of any specification, before taking the second mandatory pit stop. Sadly, the Safety Car was deployed immediately the car returned to the race, thwarting any opportunity to wrest the class win in the time left to the flag.

Britcar newcomer Nick Casey takes up the story; “Silverstone was only my second race, and hell, what a slog! We got stung with a setback before the lights even went out, plummeting us down the pack. But Adriano and I dug in, grafted hard, and clawed our way to P2 in class. If that safety car hadn’t mucked things up, I reckon P1 was defo on the cards! To add to that, Adriano not only smashed the fastest lap of our class but the class above too, all on properly knackered tyres! Endurance racing isn’t just about flat-out speed; it’s about guts, staying sharp, and powering through and ultimately finishing the race. I’m absolutely loving Britcar and raring to go at Snetterton”.
