Today, Britcar MD Claire Hedley attended the 2026 Army Motorsport Day at the thruxton circuit in Hampshire. By exclusive invitation from Major General Dan Reeve MC, and Colonel Richard Hall MBE, Claire met with senior military leaders, industry partners, sponsors, and of course, the racing teams, including members of the team racing in Britcar, as well as TV broadcaster and professional driver Tiiff Needell, who was giving rides in a BMW M2. The Army encourages involvement in motorsport, believing that it provides a powerful platform to develop leadership, teamwork, technical excellence and resilience in a challenging environment, all of which Claire Hedley believes is relevant to the Britcar Endurance Championship, saying: “I was delighted and privileged to be invited to this prestigious event, and meet with the many ranks involved. The endurance factor of the Britcar Championship, with the whole team playing a part in the mechanical, strategic, management and driving elements, is a perfect fit for the Army’s tenets, and I look forward to taking our relationship further in the future”.
