Max Coates is a big name on the UK racing scene, having been a front-runner in the live-televised BTCC-supporting Clio Cup, to which he has dovetailed some successful and stirring Britcar outings over the last few seasons. Eager to get back to racing, Max has signed up for the opening round of the Britcar eSeries, and gives his thoughts on the challenge ahead: "I’m excited to be taking part in the Britcar eSeries and be continuing to drive the Seat Leon TCR DSG in the DAT Racing colours. I’ve enjoyed success in the real-life series alongside Guy Colclough so I’m hoping that can continue here. Racing in the simulator is different in that there is no danger, but the immersion of the simulator makes it feel almost real. Like the real thing, the car is affected by weather, set up, temperature, and of course other drivers, so that is all not so different. I’ve set no real expectations and just want to have a bit of fun, much the same ethos I have on a normal race weekend with Guy and the Paul Sheard team."

Max will also be attempting a live stream of the race from his perspective, which should be available from YouTube and Twitch.
