The ever popular Supercar Challenge will be racing alongside the Britcar Endurance Championship on 3rd May at Silverstone on the hallowed GP circuit layout. The popular Dutch Championship has often raced in the UK and was keen to make a return in 2025 but the cost of the circuit hire was proving a challenge.
Claire Hedley, Managing Director of Britcar takes up the story, “Dick (van-Elk, Owner and Director of the Dutch Supercar Challenge) contacted us late last year looking for a support race slot at one of our meetings, preferably at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit or at Silverstone on the GP circuit. Unfortunately, there were no available dates this year for the Brands Grand Prix Circuit, but we managed to organised a great support package with the BRSCC at Silverstone for the 3rd May.
So for this race we will be having the Britcar Endurance Championship and a Dutch Supercar Challenge race on the same track at the same time which will be a 50+ grid which will be a phenomenal sight!!! The starts of each race will be staggered and the sight of all the cars lapping the circuit will be truly spectacular. We can’t wait to welcome Dick and his competitors back to the UK and we hope to reciprocate with a European trip in the future.”
Dick Van-Elk, Owner and Director of Dutch Supercar Challenge, “After years of absence and a fair share of paperwork thanks to Brexit, we’re finally back at the legendary Silverstone with Britcar. A special moment to be racing on British soil again – challenging, but above all, fantastic to be here once more!”
You can watch this spectacular 50+ car field thundering around Silverstone on Saturday the 3rd May or by watching the BRSCC Livestream on their YouTube channel.
