Joining the GT4 class as invitation entries for our final round are Richard and Michael Wheeler in a 570s GT4.

Richard Wheeler shared the Nissan GT3 with Danny Harrison back in 2021
Richard raced with us back in 2021, in a Nissan GTR GT3, his first GT car. Since then he has spent 3 years racing 1990s Super Tourers before coming back to GT cars this year with a Lamborghini GT3, which he has been racing with the Classic Sports Car Club, and a McLaren GT4. Richard explains his return to Britcar “Having missed the amount of seat time GT racing gives you, 2025 was the obvious time to come back. With Michael now old enough to race with me and gain valuable GT experience we are looking at staying with Britcar into 2026.”
Michael has recently finished two years in Fiesta Juniors, before reaching his 16th birthday late in June and changing to a senior license. His first adult race was in the McLaren GT4 at Brands Hatch in August, where he qualified 9th and finished 3rd, joining his Dad’s Lamborghini on the podium with the CSCC. He is looking forwards to getting more GT experience with the Britcar Endurance Championship and doing a full season in 2026.
The pair will be running with Essex based Velocity Racing. Danny Harrison who runs the company having been Richard’s additional driver back in 2021 in Britcar as well as Michael’s instructor in his junior years. He also won the Britcar Championship in 2020 alongside Jem Hepworth in a car sponsored by Richard.
We welcome the pair to the grid of our into-the-night race on Saturday 8th November at Brands Hatch and are looking forwards to seeing them back for 2026. Tickets are available in advance from the official Brands Hatch website:
