Britcar’s technical director and professional race coach David Hornsey was invited to drive TWR’s monster V12 Supercat Jaguar XJS up Goodwood’s famous hill this weekend. The car he drove – XP1 – will shortly get rebuilt as the USA press car while XP2, the UK press car, is currently in build.
The first customer cars are due for delivery late this year. Its been a 5+ year project for TWR so far, there will be 88 road cars built (to commemorate the 1988 win at Le Mans with the TWR Jag XJR-9) and before the public launch at GFoS they already had 30+ orders and they took around 20 further expressions of interest over the weekend. David has been secretly helping the company with ride and handling for about 18 months now and said, “its a real honour to be a part of the project and to work with TWR”.
