Mat Jackson makes his return to racing this weekend at Oulton Park partnering with Stewart Lines in Britcar Endurance. They will be driving the Maximum Motorsport SEAT Cupra.
Having driven in two seasons of the SEAT CUPRA Championship, convincingly winning the title in 2006, this will see a return to a familiar, yet significantly improved, machine.
Mat has had an illustrious racing career to date, having started in karts, progressing to Clio Cup before the pinnacle of his career – BTCC. Initially starting in 2001 with GR Motorsport in a Ford Focus, this was followed by eight seasons driving for Motorbase Performance from 2010 until his contract was terminated in February 2018. He has partnered with a number of great drivers over the years, not least Jason Plato in 2009 in the RML Chevrolet.

Stewart Lines is delighted to welcome Mat to the Team saying, "He’s done a great job up to date. I think we will race well together to keep the momentum going, as we are currently leading the Britcar Endurance Championship. Mat was the ideal candidate as he has a superb racing C.V. We are good friends and do business together, but it will be good to see him back in a race car again. I’m sure that his many fans will agree as he is a very popular driver."

Speaking to Mat, he said, "It should be good fun. It will be good to give Stewart a hand and to get into the SEAT with the latest spec." When asked what his racing plans going forward are he said, "This is a one-off just to help Stewart as he is leading the Championship and wanted to maintain that. With Adam Morgan on BTCC duties, Stewart asked me if I was interested and I couldn’t say no. The plan is to get back into BTCC next year. I want to be winning Championships again."

Britcar Endurance is at Oulton Park, Saturday 23rd June 2018.
