Richard and Michael Wheeler return to the Britcar Endurance Championship for 2026 with their McLaren 570s GT4. Following on from their entry into the night race in November 2025, the pairing of Richard and his 16 year old son Michael return for a full season entry under the Brisky Racing banner, run by former Britcar champion Danny Harrison’s Essex-based Velocity Racing team.

Richard explains their goals for 2026 “Following on from a successful night race in November, where we finished 8th overall and 3rd in class, we really enjoyed both the racing and the atmosphere in the paddock. We already planned to come back this year, but that night race cemented it. Our aim is prioritize Britcar around our Elan and Super Touring commitments, try to do every round and build up a good number of points, as well as getting Michael more experience in GT machinery – he’s already faster than I am.

Having done three races in the McLaren already since his 16th birthday, Michael has been testing the McLaren and is looking forwards to more time behind the wheel, and explains his outlook for this year “With the new class structure in Britcar this year, I’m expecting the competition to be even tighter, so it should be a really good year for some close racing. I’m really looking forward to doing every round and learning some new tracks like Spa“.
