New for 2026, the British Army are making their debut in the Britcar Endurance Championship.
Entering their newly-acquired Ginetta G55 Supercup into the GT Class, the three driver team are bringing their experience, competitive ability and emerging talent to the grid.
The team consists of:
SSgt Will Ashmore
Wiil has served 23 years in the Army in the Royal Signals. He has been racing for over 10 years across a number of national and international championships. With many accolades to his name, notably a class win in an endurance championship in 2023, Will has since been the driving force behind the team.
LCpl Josh Gilding
Josh has served 5 years in the Royal Corps of Army Music. Having only made his motorsport debut in 2025, he entered the popular Citroen C1 Racing Championship as a father-and-son team, in the very same car he learned to drive in. His race-craft and racing IQ were highlighted early by the team during an Army Motorsport team entry in the C1 24 hour at Silverstone in 2025. Driving alongside Will and Jon, the team claimed 14th overall from an incredibly competitive field.
Cfn Jon Candler
Jon has served 11 years in the Army Reserves as a Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer (REME) vehicle mechanic. His racing career has netted him multiple championship wins in the Armed Forces Race Challenge and has a breadth of experience in other national level championships, with many podiums to his name. Jon is bringing a competitive edge to the team.
The team hope to demonstrate their competitiveness and professionalism amongst the highly-competitive Britcar field and take home their fair share of silverware.
