Australian Mal Sandford is back in Britcar after a year’s break, contesting both the Britcar Dunlop Endurance and Trophy categories. Overseen by Chris Murphy’s Whitebridge Motorsport, Mal will run his regular Aston Martin Vantage in the Endurance championship, and make a full weekend of it, competing in the Trophy championship in a BMW Z4.

Being heavily involved in the airline industry, and a tie-up with the Mirpuri Foundation, sustainability plays a significant role, as Mal alludes: " We ran both cars last year as Carbon Neutral (with Carbon Offsets) and would encourage other people to do the same. For us to offset the two cars, including all the transport etc is less than half of one percent of the budget."

Britcar MD Claire Hedley welcomes Mal’s return to Britcar, and in particular contesting both categories, stating "This great news that Mal is joining us, and proves that the addition of the new Trophy category is the perfect opportunity for professional people (though "gentleman" drivers) to maximise their track time in varying machinery over a weekend".
