Team BRIT – the most inspirational team in motorsport, has announced that it will be entering its full fleet of racing cars and up to eight drivers in the Britcar Endurance Championship in 2020.
The all-disabled team uses the world’s most advanced hand control technology to allow its drivers to race on equal terms, and next year, it will be taking its Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 to the iconic championship, as well as its three BMW 116s as part of an exciting new development for the series.
Britcar organisers have announced an addition to the traditional championship, with the Britcar Trophy launching from next year. The additional Trophy Category will be part of the main Dunlop Endurance Championship, separating classes 5-7 from classes 1-4, and running on the Sunday of race weekend.
This enables Team BRIT to enter all its cars into the championship, with its rookie drivers competing in the BMWs, having raced in the Gaz Shocks BMW 116 Trophy this year.
2020 will see Team BRIT rising star, Bobby Trundley racing in the Aston Martin for the first time. The 20-year-old from Wokingham stunned crowds this year, winning 4 out of 5 rounds in the 116 Trophy, despite it being his first season of car racing.
Hoping to join Bobby in the Aston will be paraplegic racer Aaron Morgan from Basingstoke, who has been the only disabled racer in the BMW Compact Cup since 2014, and is now looking for the backing he needs to move up the motorsport ladder with Team BRIT.
Racing the BMWs in the Trophy category will be Matty Street, who lives with Autism, Ryan Ashman, a paraplegic following a motocross accident, Andrew Tucker, who suffered limb disabilities after being knocked off a motorbike and A J Gani, a paraplegic after falling from a tree.
Also hoping to join the team on track are the Team BRIT’s first female rookies – Tracey Pahel, a cancer survivor who had her leg amputated after beating the disease numerous times and Lorraine Pooley, a leg amputee after being hit by a car.
Team Principal, Dave Player, confirms, "This new addition to the Britcar Championship is really exciting news, and allows us to put all our efforts into the series – which is widely regarded as one of the most iconic championships of the motorsport calendar.
"Having raced our Aston Martin in some of the Britcar rounds this year, we’ve seen both the professionalism of the series, and the impressive competition involved, so we know it is where we want to be.
"Britcar will provide the perfect competitive stage for our new rookies in the Trophy category, whilst Bobby and Aaron will be hoping to provide some serious competition against the more experienced racers in the main events."

Round 1 of Britcar 2020 will take place on the 10th April at Donington Circuit.
