Britcar Trophy class vice champion Andy Tucker returns alongside British GT race winner Nick Halstead at High Row Motorsport.

Andy Tucker will make a welcome return to the Britcar Trophy Championship this weekend with the High Row Motorsport team that he raced with in 2023; enroute to second in the Clio Cup class championship. He’ll be joined for the first weekend of the season by current British Touring Car Championship driver and former British GT race winner Nick Halstead.

Alongside his racing commitments this weekend Nick will also be unveiling his Mr Crazy Cart BTCC livery at Donington as part of the race meeting featuring the British Endurance Championship and the best of older BTCC cars from generations gone by. Nick is returning to the BTCC this season aboard one of Exceler8 Hyundai i30’s but will kick off his season this weekend in one of High Row Motorsport’s Renault Clio Cup cars.

Andy is aiming to race for the full season and challenge for the class championship and is, as such, looking for a driver to join him for the rest of the season. Interested parties can contact wither Andy or Max Coates, team manager at High Row Motorsport.

Andy said, “After coming so close to winning the championship last season and to have our efforts thwarted by a throttle issue, I signed back up for 2024 with redemption on my mind. Beginning the season with Nick Halstead as my temporary team mate is a fantastic start. To drive with someone of his calibre is a privilege that I won’t be taking for granted!

During the off season as a team we searched for a partner for my 2024 campaign, and found 3! Unfortunately one new driver dropped out last minute and left three drivers to a car so in the last week and half I decided to give car 88 to Hadley and Maurice (announced as drivers for High Row last night) partner up for the season. They’re two young and incredibly talented drivers and I wish them all the luck this year.

We’re still searching for a permanent driver partner for myself, in a similar situation we achieved race wins and vice champion status last year. It’s far from a perfect situation, but for me, this is the perfect team. We communicate, we’re open, and we’re committed. Bring on the start of the season and whatever is to follow.

Nick added “I’m excited to start the season with a quick warm up by taking part in Britcar Trophy with High Row Motorsport and combining that with my BTCC Livery Launch at Donington Park Circuit.

Team manager Max Coates said “As a team we are chuffed that Andy is back out in one of our cars this weekend and that he’ll be doing so alongside someone with the calibre and experience that Nick has. It’s a pleasure to welcome Nick to the team. We really hope it’s the beginning of an interesting story for our 3rd car and it can complete the season with our other two competitive driver line ups announced last night.
