Westbourne Motorsport continues to nurture young talent, and their major support for the Clio class in the Britcar Trophy Championship allows them to place their proteges into an endurance format for further skills development. Charlie Hand clinched the Junior Saloon Car Championship last season, taking a magnificent 14 wins out of a possible 19, and is excited about the prospect of racing the team’s Renault Clio Cup Gen 4 on a packed Britcar grid, as he told us: “I am excited to announce that I will competing in the Britcar Endurance Trophy Championship, in the Clio class for 2022 with Westbourne Motorsport. This is a great move for us as it will give me an introduction to endurance racing and dealing with big grids. My main focus is still my education at the moment, as I am in my final year of college, but after exams are over, keep your eyes peeled as there are some big things in the future”, while Westbournes’s Ben Colburn adds “We are very pleased to have Charlie back with the team for 2022; he has already been impressive on a test day in December with the Clio and we look forward to see how he will progress across the season!”
